On the Lalin Railway Bridge spanning the Yarlung Zangbo River, the paint-free weathering steel developed by Xingtai Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. is withstanding the test of the extreme plateau environment with its unique technical genes. Faced with multiple challenges such as a daily temperature difference of 25℃, strong ultraviolet rays and high salt spray corrosion, the technical team of Xinggang, in conjunction with the China Academy of Railway Sciences, spent three years breaking through the technology of collaborative optimization of micro-alloying design and rolling process, and developed China's first XG835NH weathering steel. According to the detection by the National Material Environmental Corrosion Platform, its atmospheric corrosion resistance has been significantly improved compared with traditional steel. The supporting 10.9S grade high-strength bolt sets have passed one million fatigue tests, becoming the first plateau bridge material in China that can be directly applied without painting. Experts from the China Iron and Steel Industry Association pointed out: "This technical system has achieved a full-chain breakthrough from basic materials to application processes, making China's weathering bridge steel technology reach the international first echelon level."

This in-depth customized service model has penetrated into the high-end manufacturing industry chain. To overcome the technical barriers of high-temperature resistant fasteners for engines of a German automobile enterprise, Xinggang developed SNB16 heat-resistant steel through precise control of micro-alloy composition. According to the detection by TÜV Rheinland, its creep rupture life at 550℃ high temperature reaches the level of international similar products. The temperature-controlled rolling process customized according to the characteristics of the customer's production line has shortened the processing process by two procedures, resulting in a significant reduction in unit energy consumption. In the field of new energy vehicles, Xinggang has established a joint laboratory with domestic leading automobile enterprises. The 36MnB4 rivet steel developed directionally has a strength exceeding 1600MPa. Verified by mass production of relevant automobile enterprises, it has successfully achieved a 12% weight reduction in key connection parts of the vehicle body, with an ideal effect of reducing energy consumption per vehicle.

The gene of green intelligent manufacturing drives the energy efficiency improvement of the entire industrial chain. The SWRCH35K anneal-free cold heading steel innovatively launched by Xinggang replaces the traditional spheroidizing annealing process through the collaborative design of composition and process. According to the calculation of the China General Machinery Components Industry Association, each 10,000 tons of products can reduce natural gas consumption by 1.5 million cubic meters; the FT series non-quenched and tempered steel applies phase transformation strengthening technology, enabling downstream customers to completely eliminate the heat treatment link, and the processing power consumption has dropped by 30% directly. In the wind power field, the large-size wire rod of SCM440 developed by Xinggang, tested by the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Northeastern University, with its excellent matching of strength and toughness, has achieved remarkable results in helping customers reduce deep processing procedures of wind power bolts and save energy costs.

From "single material supply" to "system solution output", relying on the national-level enterprise technology center, Xinggang has built a service closed-loop of "demand diagnosis - collaborative R&D - process optimization". In the past three years, it has customized 217 kinds of special steel products for downstream enterprises, and developed 46 supporting green manufacturing technologies, promoting an average reduction of 22% in production energy consumption and an increase of 19% in material utilization rate for customers. This deeply integrated innovation model has not only broken the long-term monopoly of American and Japanese enterprises in the field of high-end fastener materials, but also cultivated a green industrial chain ecosystem covering automobiles, new energy, major projects and other fields.
