"Youth Forges Craftsmanship, Skills Create the Future" – the 2025 Employee Skills Competition, co-hosted by the company's Trade Union and Human Resources Department, came to a successful conclusion recently. On June 19, the commendation ceremony for the 2025 Employee Skills Competition was grandly held in the Steelmaking Plant. Zhang Yuming, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the company, Li Hongchao, Deputy General Manager, and Xu Huiyun, Assistant to the Chairman and Director of Human Resources, attended the ceremony and presented awards to the winners.
At the meeting, Zhang Yuming, Chairman of the company, delivered a passionate speech. He pointed out that the employee skills competition is a platform for the company to cultivate and discover high-skilled talents. In the competition, young employees, under the oral instruction and hands-on guidance of their masters, "learn skills, practice techniques, and improve quality", mastering skills in their hands and comprehending experience in their hearts, growing into the backbone and core force of the new Xinggang. He said that strengthening the construction of a team of high-skilled talents is the guarantee for the healthy development of the new Xinggang. Relevant departments should conduct in-depth summaries of the competition activities, continuously optimize and innovate the competition content and form, especially focus on the production processes of the new Xinggang, and cultivate new-type skilled talents who are proficient in both traditional processes and digital information and intelligent technologies. It is necessary to further optimize the incentive mechanism for skills competitions, create a strong atmosphere of "comparing, learning, catching up, helping, and surpassing" and striving for first-class, inspire all employees to consciously practice the core values of "integrity, responsibility, practicality, innovation, cohesion, and win-win", and build the new Xinggang into a world-class special steel enterprise!
The company's 2025 Employee Skills Competition was hosted by the Steelmaking Plant, Ironmaking Plant, and Wire Rod Plant respectively. Since its launch in April, it lasted for one and a half months. Through theoretical examinations and practical operation competitions, the winners of the three types of skills competitions – blast furnace front workers (Ironmaking Plant), ladle refining workers (Steelmaking Plant), and steel rolling workers (Wire Rod Plant) – stood out. To highlight the theme of this competition, two special awards, "Most Outstanding Young Worker" and "Best Instructor", were added. A winner of the "Most Outstanding Young Worker" award stated that under the "passing on, helping, and guiding" of his master, his professional skills have been increasingly refined, he has a deeper understanding of the technical standards and operating specifications of special steel production, and he is full of confidence in growing together with the new Xinggang and creating a better future.
